Lock-ett Up Foundation - Academic Learning Center

The Lock-ett Up Foundation kicked off its Manhattan campaign on January 21, 2000 with the naming and dedication of the Lock-ett Up Foundation Academic Learning Center on the fourth floor of the Kansas State University Hale Library. The $25,000 (five-year) foundation gift will assist the Libraries in making sure that quality facilities are available for KSU students. The gift will also help fund acquisition of materials used in the children’s literature curriculum. The learning center consists of two classrooms equipped with 24 computers and a study area and will be used as a study hall for athletes and other students.

Lock-ett Up Foundation - Kansas State University Partnership

In January, 2000, The Lock-ett Up Foundation entered into a five-year partnership with the colleges of Human Ecology, Business Administration, and Education, the Athletic Department, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in Manhattan and the KSU Student Foundation. This partnership established reading programs in area schools and created scholarships for K-State students. Kevin made a commitment of $15,000 to fund three $1000 annual scholarships that will be awarded to a multicultural student, a student athlete and a student enrolled in the College of Business Administration.
